Puzzle Duomo di Firenze

This etching was published in 1750 by Robert Sayer, a famous British engraver and publisher known for his maps, views of various European cities and famous buildings.

The image depicts a view of the Piazza del Duomo, in Florence, on the day of the Corpus Domini procession, a religious celebration that involved the clergy, the nobility and the people in a spectacular event. Many details can be noted, such as the solemnly dressed crowd, the numerous clergy in white robes lined up along the procession, the nobles in sumptuous colored clothes, some of them comfortably seated to watch the show but also carriages and groups of children playing, as well as many dogs freely circulating in the square.
