What can you build with just a few simple shapes?

Scatola di Architettura is an open-ended construction set that turns simple wooden “bricks” into an entire world of architectural possibilities. By combining the pieces in different ways, you can create everything from houses and churches to castles, skyscrapers, towers, factories, stations, and entirely imaginary buildings.

The set includes beechwood blocks in different shapes and sizes, designed to be freely combined and rearranged. There is no single way to build: change the position, scale, or combination of the pieces and a completely different structure emerges. The result is a playful introduction to architecture, spatial thinking, composition, and creative construction.

The accompanying booklet features more than 60 building examples, from traditional architectural forms to modern structures. These are only starting points: the real possibilities are limited only by the imagination of whoever is building.

Originally produced in 1945, Scatola di Architettura is part of Bruno Munari's exploration of design, construction, and open-ended play. This new edition retains the spirit of the original while replacing the cardboard “bricks” with unhewn beechwood, bringing a natural material and tactile quality to the experience.
