Ladislav Sutnar

Ladislav Sutnar (1897–1976) was a Czech graphic designer, artist and pioneer of information design whose work shaped the way visual information is organised and communicated. Known for his clarity, functionality and modernist approach, Sutnar developed a design language based on structure, colour and geometric simplicity.

Throughout his career, Sutnar worked on major projects for organisations and companies including McGraw-Hill, IBM and the United Nations, while serving for nearly two decades as art director of Sweet’s Catalog Service. His innovative approach to visual systems and communication earned international recognition, with his work included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Architoys presents Factory Town Blocks by Ladislav Sutnar, a construction toy that reflects his fascination with geometry, architecture and creative exploration through simple forms.
