Architoys was born from the belief that play can be a way to discover architecture, art and design.
Founded in 2012 by Marco Ginoulhiac, the brand was created from the meeting of two of his greatest passions: architecture and toys. While teaching at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, Marco began developing objects that transformed architectural concepts into playful experiences. Some of these early projects are now part of the Architoys collection.
From the very beginning, the mission was to create and select toys that are simultaneously original, educational and fun — objects capable of sparking curiosity and encouraging creativity, while maintaining high aesthetic and construction quality.
But what exactly are Architectural Toys?
"Architectural toys are all those toys that relate to a part of architectural culture, whether connected to construction, composition or representation."
Building shapes, exploring cities, discovering buildings or interacting with objects designed with artistic intention are experiences that stimulate creativity, develop spatial thinking and awaken a deeper sensitivity to art and the built environment. Through play, we aim to nurture this awareness and show that artistic sensitivity can be developed from an early age — and throughout life.
